Finding Strength in Spiritual Warfare: 5 Powerful Verses

Hello, Sisters in Christ,

Today, I want to take a moment to pause and recognize the tireless efforts you put into your spiritual journey. Many of us carry a unique burden as we engage in constant prayer and intercession for those around us. It can be exhausting, can’t it? The weight of concern for loved ones, community, and even the world can sometimes feel overwhelming. I know it’s been quite difficult for me for the past two weeks. Between the day-to-day obligations, deep intercession for family members, ministry, and running a business, exhaustion was inevitable. In a moment of true weakness, after several days of little sleep due to deep spiritual warfare, I told God, “Father, I don’t know if I’m built for this.”

You may find yourself waking up with a heart full of petitions and going to bed with a mind racing over the challenges others face. It’s a noble calling, one that is steeped in love and devotion to God and those we serve. Yet, in the midst of spiritual warfare, it’s vital to remember that our strength does not come from ourselves but from the Lord. After my confession of weakness to the Lord, I remembered 2 Corinthians 12:9 “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.”

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

In moments of fatigue and weariness, we must lean into our faith. God promises us in Isaiah 40:31 that “those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.” Remember, it’s okay to take a step back, breathe, and renew your spirit. It’s okay to feel exhaustion, as humans it’s only natural. But, we have to remember not to rely on our own strength or capabilities. Anything and everything we do for Christ will have provision directly from Him. Your efforts are not in vain, and your prayers are powerful. You are planting seeds of faith that will blossom in due time, even if you cannot see the harvest yet. The Lord tells us in Nehemiah 8:10 “Do not grieve, because the joy of the Lord is our strength.”

As we navigate these difficult battles, you cannot take your eyes off of our Mighty God and His mission. In the last several days that I was in constant outpouring to others, I realized I needed some pouring into too. Talking to God and telling Him about my self-doubt, my exhaustion, and my physically weakened body was the first step in refueling. He gave me the solution by reminding me of His promises: “He gives strength to the faint and strengthens the powerless,” Isaiah 40:29. Let’s have that self-awareness to lift each other up. Share your burdens with a trusted friend, join a small group, or even reach out to a mentor in your church. Let them pour back into you. You don’t have to walk this path alone. There is comfort in community, and often times the support of fellow sisters can provide the encouragement we need to keep pushing forward.

When you feel drained, remind yourself of the promises God has made. He sees your struggles, hears your prayers, and understands your heartache. He stands ready to equip you with the strength to carry on.  Let each whispered prayer and moment of intercession be a reminder of your reliance on His grace. Isaiah 40:31  tells us “but those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not faint.” In Christ we have it all. He already conquered the earth. Everything we endure He already endured. The life we navigate, He already lived. Our Father knows better than anyone else every single emotion, hurt, lack, pain, and oppression we may feel. And He was victorious. He is victorious.

As you continue your spiritual journey, remember that even in warfare, you are not fighting for victory, but from victory through Christ. Each battle brings you closer to Him, shaping you into the woman God created you to be. He tells us in Isaiah 41:10 “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen  you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand.”

So, let us stay faithful. Remember: the fight is not ours alone—God is with us every step of the way. Take heart, dear sisters. You are loved, you are valued, and your spirit will rise anew each day.

In His love,

Kenya

Isaiah 41:10

“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen  you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand.”
